Power of Eating Correctly & The Need for Supplementation
When you are enjoying strong, productive workouts, you need to recognize that this is a result of the foods you are eating and fueling your efforts. The production of energy is a complex process at the blood chemistry level; however, it is quite simple at the top line level – fruits and vegetables provide you electrolytes and water naturally (think about it as a pre-hydration trick) and the proteins are what rebuild your body for improved strength & endurance.
To help you evaluate the effectiveness of your daily food intake, at night when you are capturing your body weight before bed, ideally you want to be 3-5 pounds heavier than you were at your morning weigh in. This is due to the fact that when you consume fruits and vegetables, your body will store water (2.5 grams) for every gram of stored carbohydrates (stored sugar in your liver and muscles). This strategy of pre-hydration will help eliminate the risk of dehydration during training and racing. In the evening, if you are not a few pounds heavier, I would encourage you to consume more fruits and vegetables to facilitate this process. If you feel that you cannot get all of your fruits and vegetables in on a daily basis, then please look into our new fruit and vegetable powders – click on each product below to learn how these powders can improve your health, energy and ultimately your performance:
Complete Reds (5 servings of fruits & vegetables)
Complete Purples (powerful antioxidant formulation)
Complete Oranges (fat burning & energy producing formulation)
Proper nutrient intake is another way to Work Smart, Not Hard and Avoid Overtraining!
